where this started
A few years ago, my wife Daniela hit her mid-40s and started dealing with health issues for the first time in her life. Her body felt different in ways she could describe precisely, and nobody seemed to want to hear it.
We went looking for answers and kept running into walls. The standard tests told us almost nothing. Was it perimenopause? A hormonal shift? Something else? No one could give her a straight answer. Her doctors handed her a low-estrogen pill with no real guidance, as if one pill was supposed to fix everything. There was no conversation about what was changing, why, or what the options were. It felt like they were minimizing what she was going through instead of helping her understand her own body.
Daniela is not someone who gives up on a question. Neither am I. We are in midlife ourselves, dealing with the same sleep, energy, and hormone questions as the people who write to us.
what I found when I went looking
I hated watching her struggle, so I went to work. I spent months deep in the research, learning everything I could about peptides, hormone therapy, and the science of aging.
Two things became clear. The first is that the changes women (and men) notice after 40 are real, measurable, and well described in the medical literature. Deep sleep shortens. The overnight growth hormone pulse that drives recovery fades. Hormones shift years before a period changes. The molecule cells use to make energy declines with age. None of this is mysterious. Most of it has been studied for decades, and for much of it there are prescription treatments a physician can discuss with you.
The second is that very little of it reaches the patient, and not because anyone is hiding it. Many doctors receive almost no training in perimenopause and menopause, and a fifteen-minute appointment leaves no room to learn it on the spot. So the care Daniela got was generic where it should have been personal, and dismissive where it should have been informed. She ended up learning more from the research than from any visit. What was still missing was a front door: a place where someone in Daniela's position could get a real medical evaluation from a physician who knows this territory, a plain explanation, and a prescription if one was appropriate, without a six-month wait.
what we decided Pepvio had to be
That's why we started Pepvio: the platform we wish Daniela had found back then. We started with what it had to be, and it comes down to one idea. Getting older is inevitable. Feeling unlike yourself without understanding why, or what your options are, should not be.
Real medicine. Prescription treatments, not supplements. Every protocol on Pepvio is prescribed by a U.S.-licensed physician after a medical review, made to that prescription by a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy, and shipped with your name and the pharmacy's name on the label. If a physician decides something isn't right for you, they say so, and you are not charged. Safe access, without compromise.
Real physicians. The clinicians who review your intake come from Wasef Health, a physician-owned and physician-led telemedicine group licensed across all 50 states. The physician who reads your history is licensed in your state, reads it themselves, and can message you with questions before deciding. Is Pepvio legit shows how to verify all of that yourself, because trust should be earned through transparency, not asked for.
Real answers. The thing Daniela needed most was an explanation. So we built the Learn hub: plain-language guides to what changes after 40, what's common, what's worth a closer look, and how each treatment works, with the studies cited so you can check them. Knowledge creates confidence, and the confidence to ask a better question is most of what she was missing.
A price you know before you start. The physician review is free, shipping is free, and the price on the page is the price of the medication. There is no membership fee and no surprise at checkout. You can pause, switch, or cancel from your portal without a phone call.
Made for you instead of handed to everyone. Daniela's low-estrogen pill was the default answer to a question nobody had asked her. On Pepvio, where a treatment comes in more than one form, you choose the form at your visit, and the physician sets the dose for you. Two people with the same symptom can leave with different plans, because they are different people.
what we focus on
Pepvio is built around the changes people actually notice in midlife, for women and for men, and the care that fits each one:
- Midlife health: sleep that gets lighter, energy that runs out earlier, recovery that takes longer, and the question underneath all of it, "is this just aging?"
- Women's hormones: perimenopause and menopause, explained clearly, with hormone therapy as a real conversation instead of a shrug.
- Peptides and modern treatment: what sermorelin, PT-141, NAD+, and the other prescription options are, how they work, and what to expect, without the hype.
- Metabolic health and weight: why weight changes after 40 and how GLP-1 medication fits alongside muscle, protein, and sleep.
- Sexual health and desire: a change that is common, rarely talked about, and worth taking seriously.
- Care and trust: how online treatment works, what compounded means, and how to check who is behind any provider, including us.
We lead with the experience, not the medication, because that is how it arrives in real life. Nobody wakes up wanting a peptide. They wake up at 3 AM, or drag through the afternoon, or feel a distance from their partner they didn't choose, and they want to understand it. Our job is to help you get from "something feels different" to knowing what is happening and what your options are.
we're going through this too
Pepvio is a husband-and-wife company. Daniela and I run it together, and we are not doctors. We are two people in midlife who hit a wall, learned more than we ever expected to about how the body changes after 40, and decided the answers should not be this hard to get.
That shapes how we work. We read the same articles we publish, because we needed them ourselves. We price the protocols the way we wanted to be priced when we were the ones paying: the doctor review free, shipping free, the number on the page the number you pay, and the medication itself as affordable as a licensed pharmacy and a real physician allow. And when a treatment is not the right fit for someone, the physician says so, and we would rather lose the order than have someone take something they don't need.
The goal is simple to say and hard to do: bring good, affordable midlife health care to as many people as possible. Real medicine, at a price a normal household can carry, from people who are going through the same thing you are. Midlife deserves better conversations than the ones Daniela got, and we intend to have them with you.
what we promise
Choosing Pepvio means choosing care that is informed, responsible, and genuinely human. In practice that means five things you can hold us to.
We will communicate clearly, in plain language, with the sources shown. We will never promise an outcome we cannot guarantee: the trials give averages, and your physician will tell you what is realistic for you. We will make trust part of the experience from the first screen, with the physicians, the pharmacy, and the terms all checkable by you. We will answer, because a real person is on the other side of the screen and we have not forgotten what it felt like to be ignored. And we will never sell you a younger version of yourself. Pepvio exists so you can feel informed, supported, and more in charge of how you feel through this stage of life, which is a different thing entirely.
where we are now
Pepvio is certified by LegitScript in the Telemedicine and Pharmacy categories, the review that Google and the major payment networks require before a telehealth company can advertise or process prescription payments. Every protocol page shows the plan and the price. Every article in the Learn hub cites its sources. And the physician review, the thing Daniela never really got, is the step nothing on the platform skips.
We still run Pepvio the way we started it: with the question of what Daniela would have needed on the day she first went looking. Real medicine, real physicians, real answers, and a price a household can afford, made for you instead of handed to everyone. Because that's what every person deserves. Daniela and I are glad you're here.
If you're where Daniela was, the quiz matches what you're noticing to a starting point, and What's Changing After 40 is the guide we wish someone had handed us.
